Watch for us at the Tanana Valley
State Fair, August 6-14, 2010. It's
a Groetsema tradition to fly in the best of
our BBQ cooking clan for the state fair. If
there's a line it's because it's worth the wait.
Anyone standing in that line won't be
disappointed.

Nobody cooks authentic
Southern-style BBQ like Big Daddy's. For more
years than he cares to admit, Big Daddy has served
up some of the most delicious and sought after BBQ
in the state of Alaska.
With
our primary location at 107 Wickersham Street in
Fairbanks and two other locations in and around
Fairbanks, Big Daddy's is the nation's
northernmost source of award winning
bbq.
Our meats are slowly cooked over hickory-wood, so whether you
dine-in, take-out or have it catered we are sure you will agree
that Big Daddy's BBQ is world class.
Big
Daddy's BarB-Q featured on the Food
Network
Guy Fieri has a
passion for visiting America's most interesting and unique
restaurants on the Food Network's Diners, Drive-ins and
Dives. We're guessing that would make us either
"interesting" or "unique". Maybe both!
Big Daddy's BarB-Q was part of the Diners, Drive-ins and Dives Christmas Special. Can't
tell you how much fun that was to shoot. We
had to shut down the restaurant for the
filming but it was certainly an honor to be
featured on the Food Network.
By the way, Guy Fieri told Big Daddy that he plans to bring
his family to Alaska for their 2010 summer vacation. Big
Daddy's will be one of their points of destination.
Watch for several of Guy's favorite dishes as specials on our
menu. If you ever have a chance to order Guy's absolute
favorite, the brine smoked turkey, do so.
It is awesome. Big Daddy's smokers are turned on 24/7
around Thanksgiving time, but we also cook up a few
birds for our dine in customers during the year. Your
waitress will let you know when it is
available.
Big
Daddy's BarB-Q takes Top Honors at 2008 Alaska
State BBQ Championship
It's not your
average day when Alaska's King of BBQ gets a hug from a
sitting governor and Vice Presidential candidate, but this was
not your average day.
Big Daddy's BarB-Q was in competition mode, determined to
retain bragging rights to the best BBQ served in Alaska and
possibly the world.
